Environmental NGOs Database
Environmental NGOs Database is an interactive map, presenting the information of environmental organizations. Through keyword search, the public can find the environmental organizations, which they are interested in, in this database.
With the efforts of various volunteers since 2014, Environmental NGOs Database has included over 3000 environmental organizations, covering most of the active environmental organizations in China. For the convenience of users, we developed the mobile version in 2018. With the information in the database, HeYi Institute also rigorously tracks and studies the dynamics of environmental organizations in China.

Research Reports
With the database, HeYi Institute has studied the industrial developments and typical cases. We have published China Water Conservation Organizations Investigation Report (2015), China Environmental Organizations on Waste Management Investigation Report (2015), China Marine Conservation Organizations Investigation Report (2015), China Marine Conservation Organizations Investigation Report (2017). These reports vividly presented readers the developments of Chinese environmental organizations and raised social awareness on these topics.
Considering the rapid developments in the area of water conservation in China, HeYi Institute also published The Roadmap and Eco-system of Water Conservation Organizations along the Yangtze River Investigation Report, drawing on American water conservation organizations’ experience in the past 100 years. The report particularly discusses the future of Chinese water conservation organizations and proposes some prospective suggestions, including to build an eco-system of organizations covering the upper, middle and lower reaches, to focus on water quality, to have a holistic view on water conservation and pay attentions to the issues of trashes in rivers and aquatic life, to study the successful international experience, to engage local public participation with the beauty of nature, to introduce innovative approaches, such as “sponge cities”.
